Raw Meat is highly perishable due to high microbiologically activity. It is not possible to detect the initiation of spoilage before perishable off odour develops. Detection of cold slaughtered meat is yet another problem associated with the purchase of fresh meat. Microbiologically unsound raw meat and cold slaughtered meat can cause serious health hazards and heavy economical losses as the cause of the death is untraceable.
To test doubtful quality meat a test kit has been developed in assessing qualitative microbial index and identifying quality of cold slaughtered meat. It enables testing of 5-6 samples of meat. The test kit contains the components like mini cutter, forceps, and the glass tube with screw cap along with the test strips. 500 Tests can be performed using one kit.
